Governor Sir Richard MacDonnell's summer home was built there because of the cooler but humid climes. Soon other wealthy residents followed suit.
Further development of victoria Peak didn’t happen until Alexander Findlay Smith managed to petition the Governor, Sir John Pope-Hennessy in 1881 opened tram routes. Victoria Peak had attracted its famous residents since then, the 19th century. Today, the Peak is a residential place for the wealthy and a great place for tourists.

Things to do and see
During your hike, you should focus on the beautiful plants. Try taking pictures or searching up the names!
When you finish hiking, you should be ending up at the mall. You can have fun eating ice creams or shopping, and you take a tram from there as well.
There also are 2 museums you can visit, The Wax Museum and The Trick Eye Museum. In Wax Museum, you can take pictures with incredibly lifelike wax figures of famous celebrity. It locates on the second floor of the Peak Tower, opened in 2000. In Trick Eye Museum, there are many paintings that looks three-dimensional even though it isn't. We recommend you to go there because it's really fun to visit there and take pictures.

Activities and Challenges
Activities : On your way to the mall, there are many exercise equipments that are safe to play with.
Challenges : Going to the Peak is a massive challenge. You first have to stand the weather, which is about 12 degrees celsius in the winter and very very hot in the summer. The other challenges are the risks (Scroll down to see the details)
Flora
During the hoike on the peak trail, we saw different types of flowers. We saw some Chinese Hackberry flowers, Horsetail trees by the trail.
Getting There
How to get there?
- Take a taxi to there.
- Hike up there for half an hour from Mid-Levels
- Take Number 15 or 1 mini bus (10 Mins)
- Take car
- Take the Peak Tram from Central for $12(Child) $32(Adults)
Equipment
During the hike on the peak trail, you should be prepared for anything. You should bring water in case of dehydration, rain coat and umbrella in case if it rains, first aid kit in case if people gets injured, allergic reaction etc., you should also bring some cash in case if you need to take a taxi or bus back home. These are the equipments you have to bring to the peak trail.
